Boeing India Engineering & Technology Centre (BIETC) Team is currently looking for an enthusiastic Lead Cloud DevOps Developer to join our Cloud & Developer Platform at Bangalore, India. As a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer at Boeing, you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing, building, and operating robust Kubernetes platforms across multiple cloud environments. You will collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available container orchestration solutions that support Boeing’s critical applications. Your expertise in multi-cloud Kubernetes architecture, automation, and cloud-native technologies will drive innovation and operational excellence in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

This role will be based out of Bangalore, India.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available Kubernetes clusters across multiple cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure) to support Boeing’s mission-critical applications and services.
  • Contribute to architecture and deployment of container orchestration solutions, ensuring seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud-native services.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for Kubernetes platform security, including RBAC, secrets management, and compliance with Boeing’s cybersecurity standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security and cloud operations to optimize platform performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Implement best practices for resource management and cluster tuning.
  • Drive automation efforts for cluster provisioning, upgrades, monitoring, and incident response using tools such as Helm, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Implement monitoring, logging and alerting solutions to ensure health and performance of Kubernetes environment. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Kubernetes clusters, containerized applications, and multi-cloud infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and provide technical leadership in Kubernetes platform engineering, cloud-native technologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the Kubernetes platform and multi-cloud strategy aligned with Boeing’s innovation goals.
  • Ensure compliance with Boeing’s governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements in multi-cloud environments.
  • Document platform architecture, operational procedures, and runbooks to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
  • Work with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within Boeing and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION.
  • 12+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Kubernetes platform design, deployment, and operations.
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, including cluster provisioning, networking, storage, security, and upgrades.
  • Strong experience managing Kubernetes clusters across multiple cloud providers such as AWS, and Azure.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration tools (Helm, Operators).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD).
  • Expertise in monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, network policies, and secrets management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience mentoring and leading junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with commercial off the shelf tools like OTel (Open Telemetry), ArgoCD, Flux etc
  • Certified with Industry recognized relevant Cloud certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), or cloud provider certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect)
  • Knowledge of aerospace or defense industry standards and compliance requirements.

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) 12 to 16 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
