The Cardiology Lead specializes in diseases of the heart and blood vessels and is the Cardiology program leader, and part of a clinical care team that focuses on outpatient medicine, continuity of care, health maintenance, and disease prevention for senior patients. The Cardiology Lead manages complex cardiac conditions such as abnormal heartbeat rhythms, and congestive heart failure, as well as provides preventative techniques for dealing with potential heart-related illnesses. The Cardiology Lead spends approximately 80% of their time clinically focused on direct patient care, inclusive of patient facing time and general administrative time (charting, etc.) as it relates to direct patient care, and approximately 20% of their time leading the program. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
