At RBC we are searching for a dynamic Lead Business Analyst to join our team. You will be at the forefront of the strategic initiatives that will shape Banking's future.
As a representative of the Value Office, you will be a member of the largest Project Management Office in RBC and part of a collaborative team that is a catalyst for delivering transformation initiatives, accelerating value creation, and infusing Agile ways of working that drive continuous improvement. You will work with a diverse set of stakeholders and senior leaders and will be at the forefront of strategy execution with teams that deliver some of RBC’s most important strategic initiatives.
As a Lead Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping business solutions and driving strategic initiatives. You will consolidate and analyze data, elicit and document business requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop high quality innovative solutions that address complex business challenges. By leveraging industry best practices and RBC's frameworks, you will ensure alignment with business objectives while championing continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.
What will you do?
Requirements Management: Lead and manage requirements planning, elicitation, documentation, and validation processes, ensuring traceability and alignment with business objectives.
Business Process Modelling: Lead process modelling by seeking out the right stakeholders to create or modify business process maps following RBC standards. Identify opportunities or gaps and make recommendations for improvement.
Business Analysis: Gather, consolidate, and analyze relevant data from various sources to provide meaningful insights that support business decisions and strategic direction.
Business Agility: Aligns with the product owner and participates in agile routines, supporting backlog management, user story writing, sizing and prioritization.
Stakeholder Management: Identify and prioritize stakeholder requirements, ensuring effective onboarding and communication of strategic direction. Build trust through reliability and transparency, facilitating negotiations and managing conflict resolution. Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with RBC partners.
Business Analysis Acumen, Tools & Processes: Lead the team in the use and adoption of key enterprise tools and technology such as Jira, Confluence and Mural. Understands, educates, and applies RBC Enterprise Business Analysis policy, standards, frameworks, and artifacts.
Quality Assurance: Lead the creation of collaboratively built robust test plans and artifacts for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post Implementation Verification (PIV).
Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and gaps in business processes, leveraging methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and Design Thinking to drive improvements.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the role of a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst within large and complex banking programs.
Expertise in analyzing complex business problems, proposing data-driven solutions, and presenting insights in a structured, compelling manner.
Advanced requirements management skills with experience leading many diverse stakeholders through requirements gathering, with expertise in elicitation techniques and documentation.
Highly skilled in business process modeling, requirements documentation, and user story mapping.
Advanced communication and facilitation skills to lead requirements gathering with experience delivering complex information in a structured manner for diverse audiences, delivering effective presentations and facilitating inclusive discussions for senior-level audiences.
High proficiency in stakeholder and relationship management to build strong partner relationships and influence outcomes with senior leaders.
Agile delivery experience supporting Agile routines with a focus on product backlog grooming, sprint planning and the skills to write effective user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Experience leading large program quality assurance through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post Implementation Verification (PIV).
Expertise with Technology & Tools to utilize and promote the adoption of business analysis tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Tableau, Mural, Visio) to enhance collaboration and provide accurate documentation.
Nice to have:
Relevant college, university, and/or post-graduate degree in Business Analysis
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI – PBA) Certification or Masters Certificate in Business Analysis
