Job Title: Lead Branch RVN

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Location: Wicstun Vets, Pocklington

Job Type: Permanent 

Hours: 40 hours - 5 days per week

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead RVN to deliver exceptional patient care while providing strong clinical and people leadership within the nursing team.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with significant clinical experience in primary care and leadership

  • Proven ability to lead by example while delivering high standards of patient and client care

  • Strong clinical skills across general nursing duties, anaesthesia, inpatient care, and infection control

  • Experience in line management, team supervision, and supporting performance development

  • Confident in recruitment, induction, mentoring, and coaching of nursing colleagues

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships and obtain informed consent

  • High standards of clinical record keeping and regulatory compliance (RCVS, H&S, GDPR)

  • Commitment to Clinical Standards, Quality Improvement, and continued professional development (CPD)

  • Financial awareness, including cost control, accurate charging, and stock management

  • Positive, collaborative leadership style with a focus on wellbeing, engagement, and team culture

This role suits a proactive nurse with a growth mindset who is passionate about developing others, improving standards, and contributing to both clinical excellence and practice performance.

Our RCVS accredited hospital is purpose built and very well equipped! Facilities include CT, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and more. We also have a dedicated rehabilitation suite, 3 theatres and dog and cat only consult rooms, dedicated wards and clinics (as well as much more!).
