About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Architect


In this role, you will:

  • Lead the implementation of complex projects and initiatives that have companywide scope
  • Assist in the creation of architectural artifacts for key technology initiatives
  • Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy
  • Identify medium to high architectural impact projects
  • Conduct complex technology and system assessments for architecture solutions
  • Communicate the companywide Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams
  • Make decisions in the development and maintenance of architectures
  • Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas
  • Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies and industry best practices
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in IAM domain with at least 5 years' experience in Architecture role.


Job Expectations:

  • As a member of Cyber Security Architecture, a successful candidate will develop specifications for architectural solutions and controls intended to address emerging information security threats to applications, infrastructure, and computing devices integrated with the Wells Fargo environment.  
  • Activities will include but not necessarily limited to:
    • Create architecture specifications documents from tactical low leveler reference for engineering teams to strategic direction for leadership for wide areas of IAM domain such as Access Control, User Management in different operating environments on-prem and in a cloud.
    • Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) projects or products driven by our partners, provide strategic and architecture guidance and collaborate with teams on design and implementation of those projects or products.
    • Identify gaps in security design review of IAM-based services, recommend new frameworks and approaches to address these gaps. 
    • Provide guidance on threat enumeration and mitigation specific to the IAM space to supplement existing threat modeling practice.
    • Provide architectural support for product and vendor evaluations for IAM solutions while addressing relevant security threats.
    • Collaboration with cross functional teams to identify the need for security solutions and the architectural requirements.
    • Outstanding communication skills allowing for verbal and written communication appropriate sometimes for executive leadership and at other times for engineers.
