Lead Analyst, Revenue Strategy & Analytics

Cape Town, South Africa Full Time

At 2U, we are all in on purpose. We are motivated by our mission – to eliminate the back row in education – and connected by our shared passion to deliver world-class digital education at scale. As the parent company of edX, the world’s leading online learning platform, 2U powers more than 4,000 online higher education offerings – from free courses to full degrees. Together with more than 230 colleges, universities, and corporate partners, we are helping to unlock human potential.

What We’re Looking For:

The Lead Analyst, Exec Ed Portfolio Analytics sits outside the program pod structure and owns the cross-cutting analytical functions that sit above individual programs. Where the program analysts are focused on depth within their assigned offerings, this role is focused on breadth across the full Exec Ed portfolio  -  providing the portfolio-level visibility, partner reporting, and strategic analytics that senior stakeholders and university partners depend on. You will own contact strategy analytics, partner reporting, discount and scholarship analytics, and partner resource performance, working closely with the Director, the Manager, and the equivalent Portfolio Analytics function on the Degree side. This is a role for an analyst who is equally comfortable building analytical frameworks, presenting to senior audiences, and collaborating across a distributed team.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

1. Contact Strategy Analytics
  • Own the contact strategy analytics function for Executive Education  -  measuring the performance of communications sequences and their impact on registration and enrollment outcomes.
  • Analyze comms sequencing performance across Exec Ed programs, identifying which touchpoints, timing windows, and messaging approaches are driving conversion and which are underperforming.
  • Build and maintain a contact strategy measurement framework that provides consistent, comparable insight across programs and cohorts.
  • Partner with the CRM and Contact Strategy teams to ensure analytical findings are being translated into actionable improvements to comms sequencing.
  • Report contact strategy performance to the Director and senior leadership on a regular cadence, with clear recommendations for optimization.
 2. Partner Reporting
  • Own the partner-facing reporting suite for Executive Education  -  developing, maintaining, and delivering the analytics that are shared directly with university partners.
  • Ensure partner reports are accurate, timely, and well-presented  -  these outputs represent the analytics function to our most important external stakeholders and must reflect the highest standard of quality.
  • Develop a consistent reporting framework that can be applied across Exec Ed partners while accommodating partner-specific requirements and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager and program analysts to ensure that program-level data feeding into partner reports is complete and validated before delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the partner reporting experience  -  including automation, self-serve dashboards, or enhanced data storytelling that increases partner confidence and engagement.
 3. Discount & Scholarship Analytics
  • Own discount and scholarship analytics for the Exec Ed portfolio  -  tracking how discounts and scholarships are being used across programs and measuring their impact on registration behavior and revenue.
  • Build and maintain an analytical framework for evaluating the effectiveness of discount and scholarship strategies, with clear metrics and benchmarks.
  • Provide regular analysis and recommendations on discount utilization, identifying programs where current strategies are over- or under-performing relative to registration goals.
  • Partner with Finance and the Exec Ed business team to ensure discount and scholarship analytics are aligned with financial planning and partner commitments.
 4. Partner & Resource Performance
  • Analyze how Exec Ed team resources and capacity are distributed across partners identifying imbalances, gaps, or opportunities to reallocate effort for greater impact.
  • Track partner-level analytics engagement  -  which partners are actively consuming and acting on the analytics we provide, and where there is an opportunity to deepen the analytical relationship.
  • Support the Director with data and analysis for partner business reviews, renewal conversations, or strategic planning sessions where portfolio-level insight is required.
  • Flag partner health signals proactively  -  surfacing early indicators of partner dissatisfaction, underperformance, or strategic misalignment to the Director before they become escalations.
 5.  Portfolio Performance & Cross-Program Insight
    • Maintain a portfolio-level view of Exec Ed performance  -  synthesizing program-level data into cross-portfolio trends, patterns, and insights that inform leadership decision-making.
    • Produce portfolio-level analytics for the Director and VP of Analytics, including cross-program benchmarking, cohort performance comparisons, and portfolio health summaries.
    • Identify systemic patterns across the Exec Ed portfolio  -  for example, funnel stages that are consistently underperforming across multiple programs  -  and surface these with analytical evidence and recommended actions.
    • Partner with the Degree Portfolio Analytics team led by Kevin Bolton, to ensure consistency in portfolio analytics methodology, reporting standards, and data definitions across the full organization.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  •  4–6 years of experience in analytics, with demonstrated ability to own analytical workstreams independently from design through delivery.
  • Experience with portfolio-level or cross-program analytics  -  you are comfortable synthesizing data across multiple programs or accounts into a coherent narrative.
  • Familiarity with contact strategy analytics, CRM analytics, or customer journey measurement  -  or strong demonstrated ability to build new analytical frameworks in unfamiliar domains.
  • Strong data storytelling skills  -  you can translate complex, multi-dimensional data into clear insights for partner-facing and executive audiences.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong data hygiene instincts  -  portfolio analytics requires consistency and accuracy across many inputs.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one BI or data visualization platform (Tableau, Looker, or equivalent).
  • • Collaborative and comfortable working across a distributed team  -  this role connects the program pod, the Director, and the Degree Portfolio team on a regular basis.

Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:

  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent) and direct involvement in contact strategy or comms analytics.
  • Familiarity with partner reporting or client-facing analytics in a B2B or institutional setting.
  • Exposure to discount, pricing, or scholarship analytics.
  • Experience in higher education, ed-tech, or an enrollment-based business.

• Experience with dashboard automation or self-serve reporting tools.
