Program Summary

Job Summary
As a Maintenance Mechanic Foreman – Armament, you will provide advanced leadership and technical oversight for armament systems maintenance operations. This role goes beyond a lead mechanic by managing multiple teams, ensuring compliance with Army standards, and coordinating complex repair and inspection activities for weapons systems mounted on tracked and wheeled vehicles, as well as standalone artillery and small arms. The position requires strong supervisory skills, deep technical expertise, and the ability to manage resources and schedules to maintain mission readiness.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct armament maintenance teams performing inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to technical manuals and Army regulations.
- Provide mentorship and training for mechanics and junior foremen.
- Oversee maintenance of weapons systems including cannons, machine guns, and fire control systems.
- Validate complex repairs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with Army regulations (AR 750-1, TM series) and contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate records in GCSS-Army and other required systems.
- Support audits and inspections by government representatives.
- Manage tools, parts, and specialized armament equipment.
- Coordinate with supply chain for timely procurement of armament components.
- Monitor labor hours and material usage for efficiency.
- Approve time sheets and manage personnel schedules.
- Prepare operational reports and participate in planning meetings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for armament maintenance processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred).
- 8–10 years in armament maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role beyond lead mechanic level.
- Expert knowledge of armament systems for tracked and wheeled vehicles (M1 Abrams, Bradley, artillery systems).
- Proficiency in GCSS-Army and Army maintenance procedures.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Hazmat and OSHA Safety Training.
- MOS-related technical certifications (91F preferred).
- Army-issued licenses for armament handling and maintenance.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must currently have or possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
