Job Description

The LC/MS application scientist team have been at the forefront of developing customer centric differentiated applications and workflow solutions in the market segments we serve. We are seeking a highly motivated LC/MS applications scientist to join our LC/MS team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using LC/MS High Resolution Accurate Mass (LC-HRAM), LC-Triple Quadrupole instruments and associated software suite for pharmaceutical analyses throughout the value chain. This position provides the opportunity to develop differentiated workflow solutions in the Pharma Markets using instruments that are commercially available as well as those that are under development.  These efforts help Agilent customers increase their productivity and streamline their analyses. As a member of this high-performing application team, you are expected to demonstrate strong inter-personal skills and leadership in guiding workflow solution developments on Agilent Mass Spec platforms. You will be working closely with the R&D team to help define system requirement specifications during hardware and software product development and monitor their implementation.


To accomplish this, you will have the responsibility to:

  • Work with world-class R&D, Marketing, and Sales teams to define end to end workflow development scope, to execute the workflows and to communicate the value of application solutions.

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with industry influencers and pivotal customers to increase organizational understanding of customer needs and expectations. Monitor industry trends from technical perspective and identify gaps between critical customer needs and our product offerings

  • Develop new workflow solution products that meet the customers’ needs and alleviate pain points

  • Support expansion of the LC/MS business and scientific breadth through publication of application notes, delivery of conference presentations, seminars and road shows. 

Qualifications

  • Masters in analytical chemistry or biochemistry

  • 4+ years’ industry experience of application development and customer support with a proven track record of technical knowledge and business understanding.

  • Demonstrated expertise in operating LC/HRAM and LC-Triple quadrupole instruments and knowledge of the associated software suite. Customized quantitation and reporting capabilities are desired.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, and capability to apply knowledge and experience to address complex challenges.

  • Demonstrated understanding of customer applications and the capability to design solutions to suit customers’ needs.

  • Demonstrated flexibility as a team player and a proactive approach to perform successfully in a rapidly changing environment.  

  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills. Mentoring and training experience is highly desired.

  • This position is based in Santa Clara, CA

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $128,928.00 - $201,450.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
