The Law Clerk- Intern provides legal administrative support to Anoka County attorneys. This position is responsible for administrative duties necessary to maintain legal documentation, files and schedules.

This part-time position is located at the Anoka County Attorney’s Office in Government Center in Anoka.

Pay & Benefits

  • Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 24: ($20.19 to $26.25 per hour)

Work Location:

  • This position will work at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.

  • This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work, with some days working remotely and some days working in the office.

  • Expected work hours can be flexible and within the standard working hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Examples of Essential Duties:

These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Law Clerk -Internship

1. Perform secretarial and administrative duties for Anoka County attorneys. 2. 2. Arrange appointments and meetings.

3. Proofread legal documents.

4. Respond to general information requests and assist in locating resources.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum:

  • Requires a high school diploma

Preferred:

  • Possess a Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program 

  • Experience with legal resources such as Westlaw, MNCourts.gov, and Google Scholar

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Organizational skills

Pre-employment Requirements

Anoka County has determined that successfully passing a pre-employment criminal/driving background check, drug screen and DOT physical, and/or other qualifications checks may be necessary for certain positions. Applicants may be required to sign an informed consent form allowing the County to obtain to conduct such screenings and/or verify their qualifications in connection with the position sought. Applicants who do not sign the informed consent form will not be further considered for the position.
