Laundry Valet Attendant 

About the role: 

The Laundry Valet Attendant is an integral part of the housekeeping laundry team and is responsible for sorting, processing and folding Rooms and F&B linens such as sheets, towels, tablecloths, and napkins.   They will also assist with tagging, sorting and finishing guest clothing and employee uniforms to exacting standards and any related cleaning projects as required. 

What you will do: 

  • Sorts used linens, clean towels, rugs, and robes into appropriate categories for off-site washing. Sorts out stained or torn linen. Loads and unloads carts. Use towel folder and manual folding for bath towels, washcloths, rugs and robes.  Place the folded product on an appropriate rack 

  • Shake wet sheets, table linens, and napkins prior to ironing in order to spread them out. Feeds washed linens into iron. Retrieves folded linens and stacks or hangs clean linens as appropriate 

  • Operates and maintains folding equipment, washer, dryer, dry cleaning machine, steam tunnel, presser and iron. Reports any problems or deficiencies to the manager.   

  • Answers telephone calls from guests requiring cleaning or pressing services. Logs the request and goes to Guest Room to pick up the clothing that needs service. Ascertains time completed goods are required. Counts the items and gives guest a completed receipt. Marks guest clothing for identification.  

  • Sorts guest items for appropriate action (Washing, dry cleaning, pressing or repair) and then processes the clothing on the correct equipment, using the appropriate temperature and chemicals. Once processed, fold or hang the clothing as desired. Delivers clothing to guests at the time desired.  

  • Sorts employee uniforms for appropriate action (Washing, dry cleaning, pressing or repair) and then processes the clothing on the correct equipment using the appropriate temperature and chemicals. Once processed, hang and transport clean uniforms to Housekeeping.  

  • Complies with Four Seasons Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact 

  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.  

  • Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or during heavy volume in the areas of Laundry, Valet Dry Cleaning, and Housekeeping. 

  • To keep linen rooms tidy and correctly stocked and closed when not in use. Must ensure that working equipment is always clean, tidy, and in good working order. 

  • Report anything or anyone suspicious and a Health and Safety hazard 

  • Carry out any other duties as specified by your manager. 

What you bring: 

  • Minimum 1 + year previous experience required in related position; in a luxury hotel setting preferred. 

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours. 

  • Knowledge and the ability to operate cleaning equipment. 

  • Have a high level of attention to detail. 

  • Ability to understand and working knowledge of English required and this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the in the United States.

Schedule & Hours: 

  • This is a full-time position.  

  • A successful candidate will have a flexible schedule with the ability to work morning, afternoon and evening shifts, weekends and holidays
