As a Launch Operations Technician, you will join our team on the beautiful arctic island of Andøya to perform test and launch campaigns of our Spectrum launch vehicle. For these campaigns you will closely work together with the local operations team, and support teams from our German headquarters. Besides the test and launch campaigns you will be carrying out improvement and maintenance activities for our launch site infrastructure, as well as preparatory work like creating procedures and processes to ensure smooth, safe and efficient operations.
You will play a crucial role in creating reliable access to space from mainland Europe.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
Keep the ground infrastructure and machinery (Pad, AIT, workshops, etc.) operational, ready to test and launch, and compliant with regulatory requirements by developing and executing maintenance plans
Implement changes to and continuously improve our infrastructure and processes to ensure safe, smooth and efficient operations
Support test and launch campaigns of our Spectrum vehicle form preparing the pad for operation, over hands-on trouble shooting, to operating parts of the ground systems
Manufacture custom mechanical parts or assemblies for usage in our facilities
Take care of our workshops and equipment
Join the industrial safety/first responder team
Qualification Checklist
Completed vocational training in a mechanical or technical position
Excellent teamwork
Knowledge of gas/fluid bolting techniques
Spatial awareness and good technical understanding
High attention to detail and quality
Ability to work under pressure and in a highly dynamic environment
Foundational knowledge of computer and software applications
Well organized mode of working
Physical dexterity is required as working in confined spaces is necessary (including the ability to lift 25kg without assistance)
Driver’s license class B (3.5t)
Fluent in English (Norwegian and/or German are helpful)
Bonus Skills
Any type of additional licenses (e.g. forklift, craning, trucks)
Experience working with hazardous materials or systems under pressure
First aid/industrial safety training
