About the Position:
This is a part-time hybrid remote position with up to 10-15 hours per week during the busy season; 10 of those hours each week will be in the office. Position begins July 31, 2026 and works through the school year. Must be available Monday - Friday, mostly between 8 am - 4 pm Mountain Time (Utah), some evening appointments as needed. This position meets with students and families virtually and in person in the office.
College/University Applications Management
Systematically plan, execute, and monitor all student applications for two-year and four-year colleges and universities. Serve as the school’s primary point of contact for college admissions and institutional application portals. Coordinate the timely and accurate submission of all supporting documents. Conduct one-on-one advising sessions (on Zoom or in person) with students to finalize college lists, review applications, and advise on early action. Develop a post graduation plan for each student and support them in this process. Advise students and parents on the strategic use of standardized test scores. As needed, oversee and manage college applications for student-athletes seeking NCAA or NAIA eligibility. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all student college applications, acceptances, deferrals, and final enrollment decisions in the designated Student Information System (SIS) and college counseling software.
Scholarship and Financial Aid Coordination
Provide expert guidance and active support to maximize student access to external funding opportunities. Lead workshops for students and parents on understanding and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the CSS Profile, and state-specific financial aid forms. Research, curate, and maintain a comprehensive, searchable database of local, state, national, and institutional scholarship opportunities relevant to the current student cohort. Work proactively with students to match their academic profile, interests, and background to specific scholarship criteria, ensuring they understand eligibility requirements and application strategies. Provide targeted assistance with reviewing scholarship application components, including advice on writing personal statements tailored to specific fund criteria. Counsel students and families on interpreting financial aid award letters, understanding the differences between loans, grants, and scholarships, and strategies for negotiating aid packages. Establish and maintain relationships with local foundations, businesses, and alumni groups to increase the availability and visibility of internal and community-based scholarships.
Other Duties as Assigned
Attend all required meetings. Provide regular data on efforts. Assist with student statewide assessments, as needed.
