The Opportunity:
Provide support to the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM); Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center; Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate; C-UAS, Integration and Experimentation, and lab and field-based experimentation Division; Response Analysis and Data Extraction Branch (RADE)
Responsibilities:
Process evidence to develop latent prints using standard laboratory procedures. Processing methods include, but are not limited to, cyanoacrylate fuming, fluorescent dye stains, powders in suspension, ninhydrin and indanedione.
Identify, label, and photograph latent prints on evidence.
Photograph each latent print using proper photographic equipment and techniques.
Analyze latent prints in Adobe Photoshop to determine suitability and submit to a database.
Compare latent prints to known prints and make conclusions.
Document all examination results/findings in a LIMS database.
Annotate the case file documentation, detailing the processing techniques and the examination results.
Interpret results for forensic and/or intelligence exploitation.
Perform administrative and technical reviews of reports for fellow examiners.
Maintaining proper chain of custody.
Mix chemicals as required and perform quality checks on instruments and reagents.
Maintain a clean laboratory and personal workspace environment, in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
An active DoD Secret clearance.
Five (5) years of experience working in a forensic laboratory performing latent print processing and comparisons on criminal evidence and/or intelligence exploitation.
A bachelor’s degree in a scientific field from an accredited university but extensive, closely related work experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
A master’s degree in forensic, physical, biological sciences, or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Experience must include the following:
Processing of material for latent print recovery.
Thorough knowledge of ACE-V methodology.
Visualizing and evaluating latents with the use of Adobe Photoshop and other related software.
Proficiency utilizing national databases, such as AFIS and/or ABIS.
Experience in technical and administrative case file review.
Have 20/20 vision or correctable 20/20 vision with no detected color vision deficiencies.
Must pass a comprehensive medical assessment.
Desired:
Professional Certification by the International Association for Identification (IAI).

The proposed salary range for this position is:
