Key responsibilities will include:
Providing high quality, relationship‑centred veterinary care to large animal patients, primarily cattle, sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs and other ruminants, within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and through the on‑farm ambulatory service.
Managing a diverse clinical caseload, including routine, complex, urgent and emergency presentations, and participating in an after‑hours and on‑call roster, with as‑needed equine primary call‑outs.
Actively contributing to the clinical teaching and instruction of undergraduate Veterinary Science and Veterinary Technology students, as well as mentoring interns and junior clinicians.
Supporting service development, case management excellence and strong client relationships that enhance the professional profile and reach of the Large Animal service.
You will bring a strong clinical foundation, a collaborative mindset and a genuine commitment to education and service excellence. You will have:
A Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification, registrable in Queensland.
Membership of the ANZCVS or equivalent, with more than two years’ experience in general practice, large animal and emergency care.
Demonstrated ability to provide high quality, relationship‑centred veterinary care and independently manage routine and complex cases.
A commitment to teaching and mentoring Veterinary Science and Veterinary Technology students, interns and junior clinicians.
Sound knowledge of legislative, professional and workplace health and safety requirements relevant to veterinary practice in Queensland.
Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
A current motor vehicle licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
