Boeing Global Services Engineering Capabilities organization is seeking an experienced leader to join the Oklahoma City, OK, location.  This position is for a first line Large Aircraft Spares Reachback and Structures engineering manager with direct reports performing engineering and technical activities to support BGS Spares Engineering. As an Engineering First Line Leader, the candidate will lead engineers working closely with the Supply Chain Engineering organization and industry partners to develop safe, high-quality and effective engineering solutions that meet the relevant requirements.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering, including drawing updates and 3D modeling tasks.
  • Effectively plans and executes statement of work (cost, schedule, technical, & safety).
  • Establish, track, and automate value added metrics that help to effectively manage the business.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Establishes, develops, & maintains partnerships with team, customers, stakeholders, peers, & partners.
  • Effectively communicates with team, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor, motivate, and provide growth and development opportunities for team.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role
  • 1+ years of experience working with Mechanical or Structures related statements of work.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work collaboratively to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple organizations
  • Experience leading Model-based design engineering and digital engineering tasks
  • Root Cause Corrective Action experience utilizing BPSM
  • Ability/experience identifying and implementing Cost Reduction Initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management Experience utilizing PMBOK and Boeing PMBP
  • Strong tactical decision-making ability
  • Ability to communicate with senior and executive leadership

Summary Pay Range $128,350 – $173,650
