JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Inland Operation Team Manager holds a central position assisting the Inland Operation Manager in ensuring efficient and cost-effective physical delivery operations, for which effective communication and coordination with all external and internal stakeholders are critical. This position is accountable for driving intermodal performance & commercial orientation/awareness as well as assisting the Inland Operation Manager on coaching junior & senior staff.
Be responsible for managing a team size of 7+ members.
Coordinate with Customers, Maersk Trucking team and Customs Officers for stuffing plan and/or to arrange services on schedule, for timely collection and dispatch of shipments.
Proactively attend all inquiries from Customers, well communicate with related parties in case of exceptions,
Be the first escalation point to solve or coach the team members to solve the daily operation problems.
Drive compliance and safety in daily operations.
Set up SOP/ IOPs, processes in line with customer’s requirements and internal processes.
Set up regular meetings with internal parties and with external parties to review performance and improve operation processes.
Supported customer service and the sales and products team in customer query resolution and exception handling.
Engage team members, ensure they work in a collaborative manner & make an effort to improve team performance.
Conduct regular training and coaching to team members.
Conduct objectives setting and staff performance management
Be a role model for striving for continuous improvement and a customer-centric mindset.
Be aware of market intelligence and analyze what they are means to our operations.
Carry out ad-hoc tasks assigned by Management
Work closely with other teams for knowledge sharing, monitor KPIs’, improve reporting within the organization and move towards standardization of process.
Always exercise “constant care” and be committed to the Maersk qualities concept.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Have at least 5 years of experience in Transport & Customs Operation management role.
Technical Skills: Familiar with Transport Management Software, VNACCS (customs declaration) and proficient in MS Office.
Have good Planning, Customer Service and Communication skills.
Have good leadership skills. Able to manage and develop the team
Have good stakeholder management skills.
Have a strong process-oriented approach and attention to detail.
Resilient team player who is result-focus and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work independently.
Good communication in English (writing and verbally).
