Overview
Looking for a with experience in landscape projects, including irrigation, streetscape, parks, and infrastructure. Skilled in surveying, geodetic calculations, CAD and GPS equipment, ensuring accuracy in construction surveys and as-built documentation. Strong ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, and Resident Engineers while maintaining safety, quality, and project timelines.
Your role
- Check the elevations, the setting out and rest of survey work by the contractor are required to ensure accuracy. Advise the Resident Engineer and recommend actions concerning construction surveys.
- Maintain the construction surveys and quantity records as per the Resident Engineer instructions.
- Perform the initial baseline and control surveys including the establishment of benchmarks of the project.
- Attend the Contractor’s request for surveys, including the checking of the Contractor’s setting out of centerlines, structures, and slope stakes.
- Check the field measurement surveys including original and final cross sections, check critical elevations, dimensions and locations of structural elements, earthwork grading, pavement, and appurtenances, check the Contractor’s detailed survey in advance of construction operations, investigate and clarify survey discrepancies.
- Participate in the format and standard procedures for calculation and documentation of quantities.
- Involve in the calibration and checking of the survey instruments.
- Involve in the as-built review and finalization in coordination with RE, land surveyors and inspectors.
- Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
- Interface with client and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
- Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
- Check setting-out and levels. Check services locations and ensure their protection.
- Prepare sketches to support the field work. Maintain all the survey information (field books, sketches, and calculations).
- Measure work done when required.
- Observe site safety procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built’ drawings.
- Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer, and project Safety Representative.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with related work experience in landscape projects.
- Prior experience in hospitality and residential projects in Abu Dhabi.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in landscape projects which includes landscape, irrigation, streetscape, parks, and infrastructure etc.
- Knowledge and/or experience in using CAD software and survey software, total station, data collectors and GPS equipment.
- Must possess the ability to read working drawings and related specifications, and capable of enforcing such specifications.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
- Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
