We’re looking for energetic, reliable, and safety‑minded labourers to join our Maintenance team in Mine Equipment at Baseplant in Fort McMurray. In this role, you’ll report to the Team Leader and play an important part in supporting our equipment maintenance shop.Minimum Requirements:
Experience within an industrial heavy equipment maintenance shop environment
Experience operating forklift in a heavy equipment maintenance environment
Completed forklift training
Experience with hand and power tools
Completed OSSA and CSTS training
A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
Key Accountabilities:
Follow all safety processes, procedures, and site policies to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment
Assist heavy-duty mechanics, welders, and technicians by preparing work areas and setting up job sites, including the placement of blocking, stands, and required consumables
Support spill response activities, including cleanup and absorbent placement, and maintain cleanliness in shop bays, tool storage areas, and outdoor work areas
Conduct daily operating checks on support equipment, such as inspecting fluid levels and monitoring general operating conditions
Maintain safe walking and working surfaces by removing debris, cleaning spills, and clearing ice or other obstacles
Assist in moving heavy components with forklifts and help transport, organize, and stock supplies and materials
Maintain strong situational awareness in high-traffic and heavy-equipment areas to ensure safe work practices
Working Conditions:
You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three days off, three nights on, three nights off; 12-hour shifts)
You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined
