Salary Range: $19.96 - $19.96 Per Hour

Job Summary: This position will be assigned to The Soundside Club and is not guaranteed a set amount of hours, but can be scheduled 0 - 40 hours per week. As a federal employee you will have access to all Hurlburt Field FSS facilities. Major Duties:

  • Lifts and moves furniture, tables, etc. to arrange according to function lay-out. Sets-up and tears down portable dance floor and equipment required for lunch line and special functions. Makes minor repairs to furniture, i.e., tightening screws, etc.; notifies supervisor when replacement is needed. Performs seasonal tasks as required, such as, applying ice control material to entrances of buildings, shoveling snow, picking up litter around buildings, mowing grass, using heavy (not domestic type) power mowers, and watering lawns around buildings. Uses industrial grade wet vacuum and steam cleaners/shampooers as required to provide preventive maintenance to rooms and hallway carpets. Strips and cleans floors (vinyl and/or tile). Determines appropriate method and chemicals needed for cleaning areas. Responsible for daily cleaning and minor maintenance of all club vehicles. Checks vehicle tire pressure and fluid levels. Utilizes vehicles as needed to make deliveries of merchandise and supplies. Notifies supervisor when replacement of items is more economical. Coordinates repairs that need to be done by CE with supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned. Skill and Knowledge: Requires skill in the use of common hand tools, small power tools and equipment, and in measuring and aligning items to be installed. Continual care must be exercised by the incumbent because of the nature of the tools and equipment used, and weight of the objects handled. Must be able to use computer. Physical Effort: Moderately heavy physical effort is required in occasionally lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 60 pounds, and in pushing heavy furniture, loading carts, etc. Active walking, standing, bending, and occasionally working in cramped, awkward positions. Working Conditions: Works inside or outside in dirty, dusty, greasy conditions. Sometimes exposed to fumes and/or disagreeable odors. Exposed to moderate to high noise levels from operating power equipment. Subject to cuts and abrasions from use of power and hand tools. Chance of serious injury (e.g., broken bones, severe cuts, strained back). Continuous standing, walking, stooping, or lifting is required. This is a Crafts and Trades position. Regular step increases with satisfactory work performance. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to read room schematics to determine events layout to customer requirements. Must be able to interact with customers and provide support for their event. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license. Must be able to read, write and speak English. May be required to work an irregular tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Condition(s) of Employment: Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Requires a valid driver's license. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.
