This position is covered under the DavisBacon Act. Hourly pay and fringe benefits will follow the applicable wage determination for the project location. For this position, the prevailing wage is $30.79 per hour plus $23.20 as cash fringe for each hour worked as outlined on the prevailing wage.

What can you expect?

As the Construction Laborer, you will work onsite in San Fransico, CA and will perform a variety of physical labor tasks on construction sites. In this position you will prepare and cleans job sites, loads and unloads materials, assembles and dismantles temporary structures, and operates hand and power tools. You will support skilled tradespeople and ensures compliance with safety standards to maintain a productive and hazard-free work environment.

How will you do it?

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in construction projects.
  • Perform trade for long hours daily, often in adverse conditions, to complete the project.
  • Perform general manual labor including cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris, accepting, storing, and moving material on the job site, SWPPP, carpenter tender or helper, demolition, and other duties as assigned.
  • Perform general manual labor, including the use of hand tools, and provide manual labor support for field activities.
  • Supporting Subcontractors’ activities.
  • Identify any hazards as observed for the safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Monitor job sites for hazards, maintain a safe working environment, and reduce personal exposure and potential spreading of hazardous contaminants by removing material from the site.
  • Provide assistance to the project manager, site superintendent, foreman, operator, carpenter, or other laborer and support staff in the field.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and participate in safety meetings.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Functions:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, maintenance, and practical applications.
  • Understanding basic construction methods, materials, tools, and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints or construction drawings (even at a basic level).
  • Knowledge of building materials (e.g., wood, concrete, steel) and their appropriate applications.
  • Awareness of workplace safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work proficiently with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions.
    Demonstrated housekeeping skills with attention to detail on environmental hazards to reduce personal exposure and potential spreading of hazardous contaminants.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result.

Who is Brice Builders looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • No formal education requirement.
  • Ability to access secure military installation required.
  • Ability to pass drug and background screenings is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  • Forklift training certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
  • Asbestos 8-hour awareness certification preferred.

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Laborer will predominantly be working field assignments outdoors. Outdoor conditions may be subject to changes in weather conditions and noise levels. Brice Builders LLC has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times, work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes, and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
