We are seeking an experienced and motivated Laboratory Technician - Leading Hand to join our Concrete Technical team in Sydney.
This is a hands‑on role responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day operations of our laboratory, ensuring high standards in testing, safety, and quality, while guiding and supporting a small team of Laboratory Technicians. This full‑time position is based at our Granville Laboratory.

In your new role with us, you will:
Lead, mentor and support Laboratory Technicians in daily laboratory testing activities
Perform concrete and raw material testing in accordance with relevant Australian Standards
Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality and NATA requirements
Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance and housekeeping of the laboratory
Review results for accuracy, timeliness and technical compliance
Liaise with plant operations, field testing teams and technical stakeholders
Support continuous improvement initiatives across laboratory processes
Act as a point of escalation for technical and operational matters within the lab
This role is a great fit for you if you:
Proven experience in concrete and/or materials testing (laboratory and/or field)
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards (AS 1012, AS 1379 preferred)
Previous experience leading, supervising or acting as a senior technician
A strong commitment to safety, quality and risk awareness
High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to coach and support others
A proactive approach and a willingness to take ownership of outcomes
Are physically fit
Preferred but not essential:
Qualifications in Testing Operations and/or Laboratory Techniques
Knowledge of RMS specifications and NATA accreditation requirements
Experience using laboratory systems such as Qest Lab
