Job Summary: Performs a variety of complex laboratory tests on raw materials, finished products or process control samples to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Uses a variety of specialized laboratory equipment including chromatographs, spectrophotometers, and other instrumentation as required by test methods
Maintains accurate records of all testing performed in accordance with established procedures
Calibrates laboratory instruments using appropriate standards and solutions
May prepare reagents and standard solutions used in testing
May train new employees when requested
May assist in method development and improvement activities
Assists in maintaining laboratory inventory levels for supplies and chemicals
Ensure safe completion of all tasks and keeping all related training up to date
Performs high volume analysis of semiconductor grade gases for trace impurities by use of GC, FTIR and other analytical instrumentation
Participates in other analyses as assigned to the analytical laboratory
Performs calibration and selected preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment
Communicates test results in a timely fashion matter to support the manufacturing process
Interprets analytical data and report generation
Participates in the documentation of quality control standards and analytical results
Cross-trains on a variety of analytical lab tests (product performance tests, GC, FTIR, etc.)
Responsible for the documentation of quality control standards and analytical results
Active participation in optimization of sample cycle time and continuous laboratory improvements
Works with laboratory personnel and contacts to ensure supplies are maintained and instrument maintenance is appropriate for the laboratory
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
HS Diploma required with 3-5 years industrial laboratory experience OR Associate Degree required in Chemistry or Similar and 2-3 years of experience OR Bachelor Degree required in Chemistry or Similar with 1+ years of experience
A minimum of one years’ experience performing analytical laboratory tests in an industrial setting is highly desirable;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Excellent attention to detail;
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
Available to work flexible hours which may include nights and weekends, as business needs dictate;
Proficient in google suite
Demonstrated problem solving ability;
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds unassisted
