Description

Analog Devices in Limerick is seeking an experienced Laboratory Scientist to join the Biosensor Group.

The position is a hands-on role, and working closely with the Sensor Development teams, will support the preparation and testing of a range of Biosensors.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Solution preparation.
  • Blood manipulation.
  • Testing of sensors in aqueous solutions and in blood.
  • Data gathering & analysis
  • Record keeping and report writing.
  • Support the generation and implementation of lab SOPs.
  • Be proactive in identifying, addressing and/or escalating any issues or anomalies identified.
  • Developing and implementing appropriate Laboratory housekeeping practices.
  • Management of materials for the lab and ensuring sufficient stocks are in place.
  • Support the implementation and adherence of safe Laboratory operating practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a Laboratory environment is required.
  • Lab-based experience working on the manipulation of biological materials is essential.
    e.g. blood, plasma to the desired analyte levels for testing purposes.
  • Experience of working in a BSL-2 laboratory is beneficial.
  • Experience with testing electrochemical sensors is beneficial.
  • Demonstrable experience with development and validation of assays including analysis from instrumentation readouts.
  • Good teamwork, inter-personal & communication skills are essential, with an eagerness to learn.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Software is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
