Clinical ResearchJob Duties Outlined:
Responsible for support with oversight of bioanalytical specimen transfer, bioanalytical data and supplies per protocol requirements. Ensure accurate and timely bioanalysis of specimens from preclinical and clinical trials.
Assist the Director of Bioanalytical Lab with management of disposal of bio-hazardous materials, chemical waste, sharps and other hazardous materials according to policy and strictly adhere to safety and infection control procedures.
Recognize sources of error and initiate corrective action when indicated. Assure appropriate personnel have been contacted and the incident documented according to SOP’s. Responsible for quality assurance/quality improvement activities related to sample handling, processing and bioanalytical reports.
Collaborate with laboratory and research staff. Coordinate daily activities and works closely with all Bioanalytical Lab staff. Consult supervisor when appropriate if a situation requires assistance and vice versa.
Support upper management using effective sample/inventory tracking tools to provide consistent and accurate project status. Review all active project-related protocols and laboratory manuals in the Bioanalytical Lab/Clinical Pharmacology Shared Resource and aid as needed.
Ensure that all lab equipment is calibrated, maintained and operable and keeps appropriate documentation.
Meet with staff to ensure all project needs are being met.
Attends and actively participates in Bioanalytical Lab meetings, Shared Resource meetings, and coordinates any meetings with project sponsors as needed.
Assist the Director Bioanalytical Lab with writing/revising SOP’S and Guidance Documents to improve quality assurance and create a standard process for lab operation.

Required Qualifications:
Work Experience:
6 years’ experience in a lab setting. Education can be substituted on a year for year basis.
Bioanalysis knowledge.
Experience with LC-MS/MS, ELISA, and colorimetric assay, and data processing/analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology.
Management or supervision of laboratory staff.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
