Job Description:
The Department of Neuroscience at Brown University seeks a full-time Laboratory Coordinator to work in the Wilson Laboratory whose primary focus is on developing innovative biomarkers and in vitro cell models to enhance our understanding of aging and critical neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease. The Laboratory Coordinator will be primarily responsible for biomarker analysis, including maintaining patient-derived blood and CSF sample inventories, operating a suite of state-of-the-art biomarker analysis equipment, developing new assays and protocols and maintaining meticulous records. In addition, the Laboratory Coordinator will carry-out functional studies of patient-derived iPSC lines differentiated into cell types relevant to neurodegenerative diseases.
The Laboratory Coordinator will independently run experiments, troubleshoot experiments and help modify existing techniques and procedures. The Laboratory Coordinator will coordinate weekly lab meetings and participate in team data presentation. This position will also be responsible for maintaining detailed experimental records and provide technical support as well as training to other laboratory personnel.
This position has a fixed term end date of 11/30/2027, which may be extended based upon availability of funding.
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in life science (neuroscience, biology, or related sciences).
• 3-5 years relevant laboratory experience
Preferred:
• Experience working with cell/ tissue culture
• Experience with clinical CSF and blood sample analysis
• Experience with fully-automated Lumipulse G analyzer and ECLIA/ELISA techniques
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in data analysis and data representation methods using various packages in R.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
