About The Team               

The Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, and Physics technical group is responsible for operating and maintaining undergraduate teaching laboratories, as well as preparing, developing, designing and constructing experiments. Whether supporting teaching, research, or external engagement activities, the group ensures all technical requirements are met to serve the needs of the University community.
 

Your New Role!  

Provide high-quality teaching and research technical support within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, with a particular focus on the discipline of Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, and Physics.
 

Your Key responsibilities will include –

  • Assist in the preparation of chemicals and solutions and the maintenance of equipment required for assigned MSCP undergraduate units.
  • Assist in assembling laboratory equipment where required.
  • Responsible for tidiness and cleanliness of undergraduate laboratories, instrument rooms and assigned preparation areas.

This Continuous | Part time (30 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $71,904.00– $78,826.00 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or equivalent experience, education, and training
  • Experience in preparing, setting up, and packing down materials and equipment for practical undergraduate chemistry classes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently under limited supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office with willingness to learn new software
  • Knowledge of chemical lab Occupational, Health, and Safety requirements and commitment to social justice principles
