Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia.

This role supports daily laboratory operations by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate specimen handling in a fast‑paced lab environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Clean, wash, rinse, dry, distribute, and store laboratory glassware including test tubes, beakers, flasks, and cylinders.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory work areas, including disinfecting benches, equipment, and materials.

  • Prepare and sterilize laboratory supplies, equipment, and other materials.

  • Label tubes, prepare materials, and support specimen processing, storage, and retrieval.

  • Assist with post‑analysis sample banking and routine equipment maintenance.

  • Prepare simple buffers and solutions as needed.

  • Support inventory management and general laboratory workstation upkeep.

  • Follow safety, quality, and 6S requirements while complying with all regulatory procedures.

What We Are Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (some CAP/CLIA locations may require an Associate Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology).

  • 0–6 months of relevant laboratory or technical experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory practices, safety procedures, and equipment handling.

  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, hazardous chemical handling, sterilization, and decontamination procedures.

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instrumentation, terminology, and basic computer skills.

  • Strong ability to maintain workflow, follow procedures, and collaborate effectively with coworkers.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $24,400.00 - $50,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
