Scope of Position
Watts Water Technologies in Fort Worth is looking for a Lab Technician to support our company’s growth. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas performing titration on products and water samples, be familiar with particle size distribution equipment and run performance tests such as functional flow testing, pressure drop analysis and performance reduction testing.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Fort Worth, TX.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform numerous chemical and physical tested based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards for pH, Concentration, Conductivity, Hardness, Free chlorine, Metals analysis, Particle size distribution, Density, Moisture content analysis.
- Prepare engineer test water and chemical reagents as needed.
- Assist with equipment/instrument calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Test chemicals for production needs
- Complete Certificate of Analysis
- Assist with the investigation of product issues.
- Maintain inventory for chemical and lab supplies
- Data Entry/Documentation/Organization/Reports: Microsoft Excel and Word
- Maintain wastewater/bath chemistry
- Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Engineering Manager or Company management.
- Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred (Chemistry or related field).
- 1–2 years of analytical chemistry experience or a chemistry degree.
- Working knowledge of analytical equipment such as titrators and sieve analysis (preferred).
- Experience performing acid titrations and general chemical analysis.
- General understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high‑production testing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Experience using both basic and advanced laboratory instrumentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including [insert checks], and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions:
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Fort Worth, TX location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
- Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
