This Lab Technician position in the P&W North Berwick Materials Control Lab will be fully dedicated to Material Process Control (MPC). The new Hire will train directly with senior MCL Technician’s and Supervision for no less than 1 year before independently approving calibration reports.

What You Will Do

Manage calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) of delicate instrumentation used in a Quality Laboratory setting

Ensure appropriate documentation and traceability of calibration and testing results

Manage routine thermal processing equipment audits/surveys

Assist senior technicians with methods, techniques, standards, and use of calibration equipment

Maintain and answer for calibration of thermal equipment during customer and internal audits

Review specifications and requirements. Make thoughtful decisions to best meet requirements imposed

Use computer equipment and learn new programs to best facilitate data input, review, reporting, and storage

Maintain active dialogue with other groups, such as Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Facilities, and Production

Effectively collaborate with others to ensure timely completion of testing to support production goals

Foster positive communication and attitude with coworkers and customers

Perform other duties as assigned by supervision to meet business needs

This is a 1st shift opening.

Qualifications You Must Have

High School or GED

3+ years of experience working with thermal manufacturing processes and equipment or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 1+ years related experience

Excellent computer and documentation skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience using SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Documentum software

Qualifications We Prefer

5+ years of experience working with thermal equipment in a manufacturing environment

Experience with delicate equipment, electronic devices, and digital controllers

Familiarity with thermal calibration and processing equipment (such as ovens, furnaces, pyrometers, thermocouples, temp. sensors, etc.)

Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
