Perform routine and specialized coating testing (e.g., adhesion, corrosion resistance, durability, viscosity) following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and document test data accurately in lab records.
Assist in coating formulation trials, raw material sampling, and sample preparation to support new product development and existing product improvement.
Maintain lab equipment (e.g., coating applicators, testing instruments, analytical tools) through regular calibration, cleaning, and troubleshooting to ensure operational reliability.
Strictly adhere to EHS regulations and lab safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals/materials to maintain a safe working environment. Follow safety requirements and wear necessary PPE when working in the lab.
Manage lab inventory of raw materials, consumables, and testing supplies; track stock levels and initiate replenishment requests as needed.
Update and maintain detailed, organized lab documentation (test reports, SOPs, equipment logs) to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
Comply with the official quality certifications e.g. ISO 9001:2015 standards, 5S requirement etc.
Develop knowledge about Synthomer products and application in the relevant fields through training and on-the-job learning activities.
Support sample dispatching as required

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum technical colleague degree; at least 3 years working experience in a water-based coating lab, knowledge with water-based industry coatings such as intumescent coating, DTM coatings or powder coatings is an advantage.
Experience with the lab equipment maintenance experience is a plus
