Job Description
Performs general maintenance tasks in the laboratories including maintenance of equipment, consumables and quality control checks. Assist more senior technicians and chemists in the management, preparation, testing and analysis of samples.
Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare samples to be tested, register, test, store, and dispose of them in accordance with applicable standard laboratory quality procedures.
- Perform Laboratory Testing and produce test data on standard format worksheets in a precise and timely manner in accordance with standard procedure, and sign the worksheets at the completion of a test.
- Perform test data calculations, plot results and prepare test reports to be checked by a Senior Technician, Calibration Engineer, Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Manager.
- Perform an independent check of test data worksheets completed by other technicians and sign the worksheet as checked.
- Before each test, ensure all required equipment is in good working order and calibrations are up to date; carry out routine maintenance as well as performance checks, when required. After a test, ensure equipment and tools are in good condition and if not ensure they receive proper attention and rectification; keep superior informed and take appropriate actions. Perform general housekeeping duties in the laboratory.
- Assist Senior Laboratory Technician and QA Engineer/Advisor with internal equipment verification and calibration.
- Ensure that Fugro policies and procedures are understood, implemented and adhered to by all employees
Education and Experience
- A Engineering degree/diploma in associated discipline
- At least 1 year experience of working in a similarly disciplined laboratory will be beneficial.
- A valid driving license in Saudi Arabia is requiredز
