Lab Technician, Afternoon

What You Will Do:

  • Work in a very fast paced environment performing analytical testing and QC inspection of assigned materials and products within standard times.
  • Record test results accurately and concisely in SAP
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting data including providing solutions
  • Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Assist in maintaining the productivity and organization of a busy quality lab
  • Perform calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and test methods including making recommends for their improvement
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, regulatory and GMP requirements.
  • Provide laboratory support to housekeeping team projects, working with multiple project leaders as needed.
  • Assist other QC personnel on a project basis.
  • Support small, tactical projects including product improvements, costs savings, and regulatory-required reformulations.

Position Details:

  • Plant location: Mississauga, ON (Tomken/Eglinton)
  • Work week and shift: Monday to Friday from 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Some overtime may be requested, based on business need. Position may occasionally be requested to support the day shift, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • Experience working in a manufacturing lab environment
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

Physical Demands:

  • Work is completed in a Chemical Manufacturing Quality Control lab with exposure to chemicals and fragrances
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment including goggles, gloves, safety shoes etc.
  • Position involves regular standing for majority of the shift

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in chemical or food manufacturing industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well with other team members
  • Customer service focus
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast paced environment
  • A high attention to detail and quality in results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Practical understanding of chemistry
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and the characterization and preparation of materials used in routine and special procedures
  • Experience with FTIR and/or HPLC
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP is an asset

Annual Compensation Range

Base salary range is $54,100.00 - 67,600.00. This position has a base salary and is eligible for overtime.

Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
