36What You'll Do:
The Lab Technical leader coordinates and leads the day-to-day activities and operations of their assigned section(s). The technical leader works with the other section leaders to ensure the laboratory operations function efficiently. The technical leader supports management decisions and communicates noncompliance to management.
The technical leader delegates work, when appropriate, to staff within the section to ensure efficient delivery and competency of waived, moderate, and high complexity patient test results. Demonstrates competency with the full scope of laboratory procedures, in their area of responsibility, analytics, bacateriologic, chemical, informatics, microscopic, molecular, and transfusion medicine. in a safe environment. The Technical Leader implements and oversees quality control monitoring, instrument maintenance, scheduling instrument preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. They manage proficiency testing, and SOP maintenance and development. They demonstrate and monitor chemical and biological safety preparedness within their area of responsibility. They are responsible for coordinating the training/competency of all employees in the section. The technical leads are responsible for ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met for compliance and accreditation. Delegates and provides clinical laboratory expertise for Medical Laboratory Scientists and support staff within the laboratory and provides technical expertise in a manner that promotes collaboration with internal and external customers, while working with the medical and laboratory directors.
What's Available:
Fulltime, 72 hours biweekly (0.9 FTE)
8hr days shifts, Mon-Fri (7:30a-4p or 8a-4:30p), no weekends or holidays
May need to adjust later or earlier certain days to meet department operators for training
Starting pay of $31.96 per hour and up, based on your years of experience
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a biological science from an accredited institution with at least four years of training and/or experience in non-waived testing
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Technologist (MT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
4 years training/experience in high complexity testing in the respective specialty
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
