Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a highly skilled Lab Operations Systems Engineer to support the E7 program. This position reports to the Labs Management Team within the Systems Engineering and Labs Integration Team and is located 100% onsite in Tukwila, Washington.

The E7 program is a cutting-edge military aircraft initiative supporting the U.S. Navy and international customers. As a Lab Operations Systems Engineer, you will ensure effective planning and coordination of systems engineering tasks, oversee lab activities between Boeing and government teams, and drive change management and risk mitigation efforts to support lab operations and testing requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review, assign, and address customer comments and concerns related to lab issues or risks.
  • Serve as the Change Management Focal, representing the Mission Systems Labs team at program change review boards.
  • Identify external changes impacting lab design or operations and collaborate with lab design and operations leads to determine and track necessary changes.
  • Support Risk, Issues, and Opportunities (RIO) meetings by updating labs-owned RIOs in the tracking tool, identifying candidate RIOs, assigning ownership, and developing mitigation plans.
  • Represent the Mission Systems Labs team in Advanced E-7 planning meetings, developing and proposing lab architecture to support testing requirements.
  • Host Labs Technical Review Boards and program design reviews.
  • Document and maintain lab design requirements and develop and maintain lab architecture.
  • Track program changes and their impacts on labs, develop change proposals for Mission Systems labs.
  • Manage RIO candidates and mitigation plans to ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure the labs team adheres to the contract Statement of Work (SOW) and executes Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) on schedule.

This position will be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • 9 or more years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience supporting military or aerospace lab environments.
  • Familiarity with change management processes and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of contract requirements including SOW and CDRLs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and government stakeholders.
  • Experience in systems engineering, lab operations, and test system integration, preferably within aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Strong skills in requirements understanding and definition.
  • Solid background in system architecture.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
