Lab Manager - Non Technical - Pathology Business Functions

Full-time / Voorhees


Summary:

Supervises, coordinates, and participates in the non-analytic activities of the general lab.

Supports Asst VP of laboratory operations, Lab Operations Directors, and /or Manager in financial, human resources, and quality management activities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall operations within a specialty area through the monitoring of processes including pre-analytical and post-analytical phases of testing.

• Performs all appropriate documentation to remain compliant with current standards and regulatory codes.

• Manages staff in both behavioral and technical development through application of Virtua Star Behaviors and the administration of competency and proficiency testing programs.

• Responsible for communicating technical and organizational information both inter and intra-departmentally through the use of email, staff meetings, campus communication groups, and other methods of communication.

• In conjunction with the assigned director or manager, designs, directs and evaluates multidisciplinary performance improvement programs.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the specialty area(s).

Must have a good general knowledge of laboratory technology and a thorough knowledge of the specific discipline.

Good interpersonal skills are necessary as is the ability to develop and understand budget and statistical records related to the laboratory’s operation.

A minimum of 1 year supervisory experience is preferred.

Required Education:

Bachelors or Associates degree preferred.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Valid driver's license may be required.

Annual Salary: $75,177 - $116,950 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Virtua’s annual incentive compensation plan (AICP). The amount is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan document.
