Do you want to be part of a team that manages virtualization infrastructure and cloud platforms? Do you want to be a key player in capacity planning, operations, and support for cloud/virtual platforms?

You will be responsible for:

Operation and management of virtualization infrastructure based on Linux‑KVM, aiming to ensure optimal capacity utilization and stable operations.

🛠️ Technical administration and operations:

  • Deployment and management of KVM hosts and virtual machines
    Installation, configuration, and updates of KVM hypervisors, management of host servers and virtual instances. [jobdescription.org], [redhat.com]

  • Performance optimization and capacity planning
    Monitoring resources (CPU, RAM, disk, network), identifying overloads, optimizing capacity allocation, and planning additional resources to maintain SLA. [jobdescription.org]

  • Automation and orchestration
    Using scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) or tools like Ansible for automated deployment, configuration, and scaling of VM environments.

⚙️ Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Support

  • Continuous Monitoring
    Tracking the operation of hosts and virtual machines, system logs, and alerts to prevent outages.

  • Incident and Performance Issue Resolution
    Diagnosing problems such as high latency, service outages, or virtual machine failures and resolving them quickly.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration
    Coordinating with developers, network, and storage teams during the deployment of new services, integration into existing infrastructure, and ensuring security requirements.

📈 Capacity Operations and Strategic Activities

  • Capacity Planning & Reporting
    Analyzing current load, forecasting future growth, preparing capacity roadmaps, and reporting to management.

  • Disaster Recovery, Backup, and Business Continuity
    Configuring snapshots, backup mechanisms, service recovery strategies, and testing DR scenarios. [jobdescription.org]

  • Security and Compliance
    Implementing best practices for patching, access rights, encryption, and access control for VM environments.

💡We expect you to have:

  • Deep knowledge of Linux‑KVM architecture, QEMU, virt‑fio, IOMMU, etc. [careers.qualcomm.com], [jobicy.com]

  • Interfaces for managing computing capacity – cloud platforms, hybrid deployments, integration into proprietary cloud solutions.

  • Experience with hardware (servers, SAN, UCS) and orchestration through OpenStack, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

  • Active English
