Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit (SBU) specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors, and cyber solutions. Focused on program execution, business growth, and the highest level of customer satisfaction, the ASDS team provides customers with unmatched capabilities of detection and sensing, command and control, and air-to-air, air-to-surface, and surface-to-air munitions to accomplish air, space, and missile defense missions. 

The ASDS SBU Engineering Team is looking for a Senior Principal Engineer to perform as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the Upper Tier Missile Defense (UTMD) Deployment Fielding and Sustainment (DFS) organization on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program.  The KSA THAAD IPTL will plan and execute the sustainment strategy of fielded and soon-to-be fielded systems, including on-site support staff, field maintenance support, technology upgrades, material procurement, return & repair, and technical engineering support. 

As the KSA THAAD DFS IPT Lead you’ll work closely with the senior IPT Leadership, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to plan and execute sustainment strategy in the areas of logistics, training, technical manuals, hardware and software test integration. You will apply disciplined program management processes and utilize tools to establish and monitor metrics and trends to ensure excellence in execution.

In the IPT Lead role, you will balance cost and schedule while delivering a product which is compliant with the contract. This involves developing solutions which are the best fit for the overall program performance, supportability, and long-term sustainment.

This is an onsite role located in Woburn, MA, or Huntsville, AL.

What You Will Do

  • Oversight of sustainment activities across all functional groups supporting the KSA THAAD contract

  • Ensuring cost and schedule for on time delivery of training, interactive electronic technical manuals, logistics data products and test integration to meet the radar mission, contractual obligations, and customer expectations.

  • Frequent interaction with the customer community, the program office, functional and technical leaders

  • Setting an effective communication cadence among sub-IPT leads

  • Early identification of risks and opportunities, along with mitigation and capture plans.

  • Leading efforts to support Customer Meeting and Data Delivery cadence.

  • Partnering with the leads of associated Raytheon Prime contracts including chief engineers and technical leads to provide the most cost-effective technical solutions.

  • Attending regular customer working groups and ensuring a positive customer relationship.

  • Supporting strategic efforts to identify and advocate for future sustainment needs and best practices to improve our system maintainability and supportability

  • Regular review of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering and Program Leadership.

  • Responsibility for proposal efforts, negotiations and reviews for any new scope and any potential contract modifications to ensure success and growth for the business.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience managing project or program cost, schedule, and risk or experience with Earned Value Management, Risk & Opportunity, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) or Integrated Master Plan (IMP) tools.

  • Experience with proposal or capture efforts.

  • Experience with technical and financial data and reporting.

  • Experience presenting program and technical issues to senior stakeholders.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience leading cross functional teams including members from Engineering, Operations, Global Supply Chain, and/or Quality through hardware development, production and test including system test.

  • Experience in Sustainment and lifecycle engineering disciplines specifically training, technical manuals and logistics.

  • Experience executing DoD sustainment and/or product support activities.

  • Experience with radar and/or sensor systems, or other advanced electronic systems.

  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) / DoD Radar Programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with senior levels of leadership effectively – including customer, teammates, and suppliers.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
