The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Knowledge Analyst/Technical Writer to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), specifically within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). In this role, you will be responsible for developing and updating a wide range of documentation for both project and operational activities, including process workflows, training presentations, Knowledge Articles (such as How-To’s and Troubleshooting guides), Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids, Work Instructions, User Guides, and User Manuals. You will work closely with stakeholders to define requirements and gather content, then create, structure, publish, and maintain documentation to ensure it is accurate and accessible. You will be responsible for maintaining knowledge repositories, ensuring content is organized, current, and easily retrievable. You will support the sharing of knowledge through various channels, including ServiceNow, SharePoint sites, and other electronic platforms. You will conduct documentation reviews and audits to verify quality and compliance with DHS specifications, standards, and constraints. You will assist in monitoring Knowledge Management performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the documentation. Additionally, you will also stay current with best practices in Knowledge Management and technical writing to continually improve documentation processes. This is a hybrid position, requiring onsite work three days a week at CACI’s DSS PMO located at National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD.


Responsibilities:

  • Create, structure, publish, and manage documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Maintain knowledge repositories, ensuring content is well-organized, current, and easily accessible
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define documentation requirements and gather relevant content.
  • Conduct regular documentation reviews and audits to verify quality and compliance.
  • Implement quality control activities, including peer reviews and editing, to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of documentation.
  • Monitor and report on Knowledge Management performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of documentation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates and standards.
  • Support the sharing of knowledge through various channels.
  • Complete required training in Knowledge Management and technical writing to maintain and enhance professional skills.


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Ability to attain DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability; current DHS EOD preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.

    Possess strong writing skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging documentation.

  • Possess strong problem-solving, structured thinking, and the ability to transform data into well-organized content

  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze information from various sources to develop comprehensive documentation.

  • Experience adhering to writing style guidelines and standards, such as AP writing format and the AP Stylebook.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines; capable of handling multiple requests simultaneously.

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.



Desired:

  • Understanding of IT Service Management principles.
  • Understanding of Knowledge Management methodologies such as Knowledge-Centered Service.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$59,600 - $122,100
