ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing the company’s most strategic national and/or global accounts. This role drives long-term revenue growth, strengthens executive-level relationships, and ensures cross-functional alignment to deliver value-based solutions to key customers.
Key responsibilities include:
Own and manage strategic national and/or global customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact
Develop and execute multi-year strategic account plans aligned with customer business objectives and company growth strategy
Build and maintain senior/executive-level relationships within customer organizations
Drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability within assigned strategic accounts
Identify and prioritize new business opportunities, including upsell, cross-sell, and solution expansion
Lead complex contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and commercial agreements with a win-win mindset
Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Service, Supply Chain, and Finance
Ensure consistent global or national execution by aligning regional sales teams and global stakeholders
Conduct regular business reviews and performance tracking against KPIs
Monitor customer satisfaction, manage escalations, and ensure long-term retention
Gather and share market, customer, and competitive intelligence to inform business strategy
Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM reporting
Travel as required to support customer engagement and global coordination
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Engineering, or related field preferred)
8+ years of experience in strategic account management, key account sales, or enterprise B2B sales
Proven success managing large, complex national or global customers in a manufacturing, OEM, industrial, or capital goods environment
Strong experience in value-based selling and consultative sales
Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate at executive level
Experience working in matrixed, global organizations
Strong commercial, financial, and strategic planning skills
Willingness to travel frequently (typically 40–70%, role dependent)

Cross-functional leadership without direct authority
Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities
High level of ownership, accountability, and results orientation
Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments
Language skills: Professional proficiency in English (intermediate to advanced or higher)
