Key Account Manager

Position Summary

The Key Account Manager is responsible for leading strategic engagements with key institutions specializing in bipolar disorder. This role focuses on building partnerships with influential healthcare institutions, academic centers, and leading providers that set the standard for bipolar disorder treatment. As the primary point of contact for these institutions, the Key Account Manager plays a critical role in positioning the company’s product, fostering collaboration, and driving optimal patient outcomes while achieving business objectives. Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, atypical anti-psychotics, CNS, mental health, or neuroscience experience is preferred.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $148K - $152K. The salary range displayed may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, certain degrees, certifications, and other relevant factors.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans tailored to the unique needs and objectives of each key account/center of excellence
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including psychiatrists, clinical directors, pharmacists, administrators, and other decision-makers within the key accounts
  • Identify opportunities for growth and collaboration, positioning the company’s products as integral solutions for the management of bipolar disorder.
  • Drive revenue growth by achieving or surpassing sales targets for the company’s bipolar disorder product portfolio.
  • Conduct impactful presentations and discussions to highlight the clinical benefits, safety profiles, and therapeutic advantages of the company’s products.
  • Identify unmet needs within key accounts and deliver tailored solutions aligned with organizational priorities and patient care objectives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the bipolar disorder therapeutic area, including treatment guidelines, clinical research, and competitive landscape.
  • Stay informed on innovations and emerging trends in mental health care, leveraging insights to refine account strategies.
  • Serve as a resource for key accounts and by providing scientific data, clinical trial insights, and product-related information to support treatment decisions.
  • Partner with internal teams, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, to align efforts and ensure effective execution of account strategies.
  • Develop and implement collaborative initiatives with key accounts such as education programs, clinical trial partnerships, and advocacy efforts.
  • Engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to enhance awareness and credibility of the company’s bipolar disorder product portfolio.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage account data, monitor progress, and track success against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with regulatory guidelines, corporate policies, and ethical standards.
  • Provide regular reporting on account activities, challenges, and opportunities to regional and national leadership.

Key Working Relationships:

  • Reports to national leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and account management.
  • Demonstrated success working with large group practices, healthcare institutions, academic centers, or large healthcare systems, ideally in the CNS or mental health space.
  • Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, atypical anti-psychotics, CNS, mental health, or neuroscience experience is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and develop actionable plans.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Awareness of healthcare regulations, formulary processes, and access dynamics within large systems.
  • Ability to travel weekly as needed required
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and digital meeting platforms required
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record required
  • Successfully pass all Amplity and client required training required

Credentialing Requirements:

As a representative of a pharmaceutical company, you may be required to submit and maintain credentials, such as training, vaccinations, and other job-related documentation to gain access to hospitals or healthcare providers.  It is the Company’s expectation that you comply with the requirements outlined by the facilities on your call plans.  

Additionally, certain geographic jurisdictions or hospital systems have requirements to apply for and obtain a representative license. At this time, representatives working in the District of Columbia, City of Chicago, State of Nevada, State of Oregon, or those associated with Jackson Memorial Health in Miami-Dade County Florida may be required to obtain specific licenses.
