Job Summary
The Key Account Manager will develop and lead strategic relationships with key customers across Germany and other European countries. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and identifying new business opportunities with assigned accounts and territories.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement territory sales plans to achieve divisions’ sales, growth and profitability objectives.
- Target and develop new customers consistent with the division’s growth strategies and incorporate into overall territory sales plan.
- Regularly visit customer locations and build positive, long-term customer relationships.
- Inform customers of price, delivery schedules and new product information, serving as Automation focal point for assigned territory.
- Provide service and support to territory’s account base and follow through to completion all customer requests.
- Clearly understand competitive environment, competitor’s products, pricing, performance, cost reduction efforts, new product introductions and future risks / opportunities for Automation.
- Maintain detailed files on all information pertaining to competitive environment • Maintain updated records and sales performance data.
- Issue regular progress / activity reports to Automation management.
- Secure and renew orders and support coordination of on-time delivery schedule between customer and production facilities.
- Coordinate and lead all customer visits and meetings.
- Effectively communicate territory sales progress and plans, customer complaints and suggestions, and significant events.
- Effectively communicate any changes which could impact territory’s competitive environment.
- Effectively communicate policies, pricing dynamics, programs, new products and other issues with customers that impact or could impact the business relationship.
- Actively promote teamwork and cooperation between regional sales force and other Nidec functions, regions, and Headquarters’ personnel.
- Position requires extensive customer visits, travel or outside sales work as its primary function or responsibility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or a related field is required. MBA is a plus
- 7+ years of related sales experience.
- Proven relationship-building and problem-solving skills to provide customers with the value-added support that differentiates Nidec as their premier partner.
- Proven successful track record with annual quotas for the past 5 years.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and close key prospect accounts.
- Experienced in managing complex sales cycles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the Nidec & customer organizations.
- Attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-disciplined with a high sense of urgency to be a collaborative business partner.
- Ability to work with various teams as well as independently.
