For the expansion of the Translational Science team, argenx is actively looking for a highly motivated Junior Translational Scientist, ideally with hands-on laboratory experience. As a Junior Translational Scientist, you have a high drive to generate qualitative result in tight collaboration with other members of the project team in a professional and challenging environment. This all happens in a dynamic, informal and stimulating environment where you and your colleagues work to reach the set goals.
 

This position is based at our facility in Zwijnaarde, Belgium, and requires daily on-site presence.

Main roles & responsibilities

  • Executing a variety of cellular and molecular biology assays
  • Processing and analyzing samples from pre-clinical animal studies
  • Planning and executing experiments independently including interpretation and reporting of the results with detailed and accurate records of experimental procedures, data and results
  • Demonstrating problem-solving skills by identifying and implementing creative solutions to unexpected challenges, supported by the team
  • Participating in project teams, organize work and understand priorities and completes assignments accordingly

Professional experience / expertise

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience in immunology, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, or related fields
  • Working experience in a laboratory environment is a big plus
  • Team player, motivated, enthusiastic, accurate in execution and reporting
  • Eager to learn new techniques and to share expertise with others
  • Good communication skills
  • Good writing skills in English
