As a member of the Manila Finance organization, the Junior Tax Analyst – FAH Manila will be accountable for delivering efficient and effective operations of Tax Compliance and other finance processes, follows high quality standards that meet/ exceed key objectives and service levels. Responsible for supporting the Tax processes under the control of the team, the Manila Junior Tax Analyst is expected to be the business partner for Tax Compliance. Responsible for tax reporting, statutory accounts and collaborations across RELX to drive process improvement. Also accountable for ensuring that all aspects of tax accounting are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Junior Tax Analyst is also responsible for engendering a ‘Right First Time’ culture within the Manila FAH operations and responsible for helping drive the finance organization to first quartile (both cost and quality) through seeking and implementing, in close co-operation with other members of the Finance and Accounting team and other RELX functions, an environment for improvements in efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service across the whole end-to-end Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance Process.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Close coordination with tax agents, revenue authorities, and internal audit work to track and assist on resolution of all tax audit findings from RELX Audit and tax authority reviews.
Preparation of local regulatory tax filing requirements including but not limited to business licenses and registrations.
Preparation of Indirect Tax Calculations including its reconciliation between tax return vs. books.
Ensures that all tax obligations are filed and paid on or before filing deadline, including raising and monitoring of payment status.
Preparation of Year-End tax accruals, assist group tax (RELX) with tax queries and indirect tax reporting.
Preparation of US federal, state and international tax packages
Preparation of tax accounts balance sheet schedules
Monitor tax regulatory updates and assess its impact to the business and process owners
Preparation of Management reports such as monthly reporting including exposures summary.
Support in completion of ad-hoc projects of the Global Finance Team.
Provide training to local accountants and office administrators to ensure compliance on local regulations and RELX policies and practices.
Provide resolution on outstanding tax and audit queries.

Technical Competencies
Reports generation and finance transaction analysis, tax preparation and filing, reconciliation preparation, statutory reporting, tax accounting
IFRS, GAAP, Operations systems, Fulfillment systems, accounting systems, Excel, Outlook, Word
Other Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum 3-4 years' work experience in tax compliance
Strong knowledge of accounting and taxation principles
High-level knowledge of the R2R, P2P, and O2C processes
Intermediate skills in quality-checking balance sheet reconciliations
Intermediate skills in performing analytical review of the company ledger
Excellent Excel skills. Experience with major enterprise accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP or PeopleSoft.
Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives
