POSITION TITLE: Junior Systems Engineer
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Junior Systems Engineer, you'll join a team where you'll support end users, help maintain facility infrastructure, and get hands-on with the production operations equipment and workflows that power our work. You'll also collaborate with IT colleagues around the globe on shared projects.
You'll work closely with more senior engineers, and get exposure to a mix of Linux, Windows, and OSX systems plus shared storage platforms. We're looking for someone curious, dependable, and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in the technology behind film and television post-production. This role reports to the VP, Technology & Security Transformation and located in Seoul, South Korea.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide day-to-day support to end users on their workstations and corporate devices
Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux, OSX, and Windows systems under the guidance of senior engineers
Help troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic networking issues, escalating when appropriate
Support physical and virtual systems and storage alongside the team
Help with racking, cabling, moves, and equipment installs in the server room and datacenter
Document issues, fixes, and procedures to build out the team's knowledge base
Partner with Production and Operations teams on change management and issue resolution
Participate in global IT projects as opportunities come up
Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call rotation (with support from the team)
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, MIS, or equivalent work experience
1+ years of IT experience (internships, help desk, or lab/home lab experience)
Foundational understanding of server and desktop hardware
Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows administration. You don't need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable at the command line and eager to go deeper
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals
Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of problems
Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Native level Korean, business level English communication skills
ABOUT YOU:
Any common industry certifications (RHCSA, Linux+, etc.)
Exposure to VMware, Active Directory, or enterprise storage (SAN/NAS)
Interest in or experience with post-production, broadcast, VFX, or media workflows
Home Lab, personal projects, or coursework that shows your curiosity
Must be eligible to work in Korea
