Job Details

Purpose of the Role:

The Junior SME is responsible for the daily management and maintenance of software applications within the organization, ensuring that they effectively contribute to business processes. This role includes providing technical support, managing incidents, and assisting users, while also being involved in the configuration and optimization of software applications under the guidance of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Assist in gathering requirements from business stakeholders and support the translation into functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to develop project plans for delivering requested functionalities, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through relevant channels (Office 365, ITSM tools, etc.), providing timely updates on incident statuses.

Configuration of Software Applications

  • Configure software applications based on approved change requests, focusing on user requirements and adherence to established standards.
  • Support the implementation of changes and enhancements under the supervision of  SMEs.

Technical Support

  • Provide timely and effective support for users and management, resolving incidents and documenting solutions.
  • Assist in identifying areas for system improvement and provide suggestions for necessary adjustments.
  • Support users during acceptance testing and document common issues and solutions for knowledge sharing.

Project Management

  • Contribute to small projects related to the implementation or improvement of software applications, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
  • Assist in aligning business and IT efforts, making stakeholders aware of their responsibilities in the project lifecycle.

Optimization of Business Processes

  • Support the analysis of business processes and propose solutions, collaborating with senior team members on recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in IT projects, providing insights and support to ensure successful execution.

Key Competencies:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze incidents and identify root causes, contributing to effective resolutions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for collaborating with stakeholders and providing user support, in both English and Dutch.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of analyzing complex issues and proposing suitable solutions, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Essential for configuring software and documenting processes accurately.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and support.
  • Knowledge Management: Actively absorb new information and ideas, applying them effectively while sharing knowledge with peers.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Education: Minimum of an MBO degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, IT Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of software configuration and customization, familiar with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or similar.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Dutch and English, both oral and written, to facilitate communication with team members and stakeholders.
