We are seeking a Junior Project Accountant to join our Finance Team to provide support to the financial management of projects. This includes the tracking of costs, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure projects stay within budget. This is an exciting hands-on role for a detail-orientated individual seeking to build a career in project finance or management accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and record project costs, budgets, and forecasts
- Assist with project setup in financial systems (codes, budgets, billing rules)
- Monitor actual vs. budgeted spend and flag variances early
- Support monthly financial close activities
- Prepare basic financial reports for managers and finance leaders
- Assist with sales and purchase invoice processing, revenue recognition, and cost allocations
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and internal reviews
- Support process improvements and standardization
- Provide support and coverage to other members of the finance team.
- Provide support to key finance projects and implementations across various areas of the business.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or project administration
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, basic formulas expected)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with non-finance stakeholders
- Willingness to learn and take ownership of work
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP or project accounting systems
- Exposure to project-based environments (engineering, manufacturing, consulting, etc.)
- Progress toward a professional accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent)
