Junior Production Artist - Canyon Promotions

Grand Canyon University!  One of Arizona’s leading institutions of higher learning. Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is an institutionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University. 

Grand Canyon University is seeking a full-time Junior Production Artist. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform the duties involved in screen printing. These duties include preparing screen printing stencils, creating mock-ups, drafts, and vector files of bitmap images in Adobe Illustrator for prep and set-up.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

Duties and Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Color separation of existing art files and file preparation for screen printing

2. Produce designs that fully utilize particular garment styles

3. Layout art for different types of print jobs, large format, screen print, embroidery, heat transfer and other decoration types

4. Manage design, print and art files

5. Create vector files of bitmap images in Adobe Illustrator to set up for print operations

6. Assist in small design projects

7. Perform other related duties as required.

Experience/  Education

• Associates degree from an accredited institute within the arts, digital, graphic, fashion or technology field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC preferred.
• Knowledge of Color Management/Color Matching/Color Separation/Color Profiling/Color Theory preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment background investigation.
