Junior FP&A Analyst
 
Location: Ebury Madrid office (4 days in the office and 1 day of home office per week)
 
Ebury is seeking a Junior Finance Strategy Analyst to join our Finance team in Madrid. This position is central to enhancing strategic financial decision-making across the business. The Analyst will be responsible for providing accurate and insightful financial analysis, managing critical reporting cycles, and contributing to the strategic planning and budgeting processes. This role requires a strong analytical foundation and the ability to translate complex data into practical, measurable strategies that support Ebury's financial objectives.
 
What you’ll do
● Prepare reports on financial performance, including variance analysis and commentary for senior management.
● Monitor budgets and provide insightful reports to department leaders.
● Enhance financial reporting frameworks to improve the quality and timeliness of financial data.
● Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting and budgeting processes.
● Ensure financial models and reports are accurate and reflect current business processes and assumptions.
● Utilize business intelligence tools to provide actionable insights into business performance.
● Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures.
● Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
● Assist in the budgeting and planning process by providing templates, guidelines, and consolidation of all submissions.
 
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a quantitative field.
● Confident communication in English, both written and spoken.
● Advanced Excel: Exceptional command of complex Excel formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling best practices for effective data analysis.
● SQL: Proven ability to extract and manipulate data from relational databases, including writing basic to intermediate SELECT queries, utilizing JOINs, and applying filters.
● Maximum 2 years of professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Strategy Consulting (Big 4 experience is a plus), or a related data-heavy finance role.
● Data Transformation: Hands-on experience using Power Query, Alteryx, or similar ETL tools to clean, transform, and merge large datasets from multiple sources prior to analysis.
● BI Tools: Familiarity with Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data visualization and dashboard development is beneficial.
