The Junior Electronics & Radar Technician provides technical support for the development, testing,

validation, and certification of marine radar systems. The role focuses on hands‑on activities across

electronics hardware, prototype testing, radar assembly, and system validation, working under the

guidance of experienced engineers.

This position supports laboratory and field activities, including radar installation, test execution,

documentation, and equipment preparation. The role also contributes to repair, rework, and ongoing

support of radar products throughout development and validation phases.

The position is intended for an early‑career technician and offers progressive exposure to radar

systems, RF measurements, and system‑level testing as experience and capability develop.

Primary Responsibilities:

Electronics & Hardware Support

  • Support analog and digital electronics development, including basic schematic review,
  • component handling, and prototype support
  • Assist with prototype bring-up, debugging, and fault investigation
  • Perform electronics repair and rework, including component replacement and board
  • modifications

Radar Assembly & Installation

  • Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble radar units for laboratory, field, and validation activities
  • Support radar installations for testing and certification, including preparation, setup, and commissioning
  • Assist with handling and preparation of equipment for test platforms and vessels

Test, Measurement & Validation

  • Execute test and measurement activities on radar prototypes
  • Perform functional and system testing under engineer guidance ·
  • Support RF measurements and data collection (training provided) ·
  • Assist with validation and certification activities, including preparation for external laboratory testing Documentation & Drawings
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to radar systems
  • Draft and update assembly instructions, test documentation, and technical drawings
  • Support creation of test reports and validation records Collaboration & Development
  • Work closely with hardware, system, and software engineers ·
  • Develop practical knowledge of: o Radar and RF systems o Embedded hardware/software interaction o System-level testing and compliance processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or similar).
  • 0-3 year’s experience in technical role as technician or similar
  • Basic understanding of analog and digital electronics
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment (e.g. multimeter, oscilloscope)
  • Practical, hands‑on approach to problem solving
  • Curious and motivated to learn complex technical systems
  • Ability to support corporate 5 C’s program. Customer Satisfaction, Commercial Edge,

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to RF, radar, or telecommunications systems
  • Experience supporting testing or product validation ·
  • Basic awareness of embedded systems or software‑hardware integration

Travel Requirements:

Approximately up to 10% travel

Working Conditions:

Office, lab, and occasional field/on-water testing environments.
