Junior Data Analyst – Income Qualified Residential Programs

ICF is seeking a Junior Data Analyst to help manage energy efficiency programs. This role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and reporting on program data to support informed decision‑making by program leadership and delivery teams.
Reporting to a Project Coordinator, the Junior Data Analyst provides regular and ad‑hoc reporting, supports data quality efforts, and contributes analytical insights that help monitor program performance, identify trends, and improve delivery outcomes. This is a junior‑level position well suited to candidates early in their analytics career who are detail‑oriented, comfortable working with data, and interested in supporting large‑scale, mission‑driven programs.

What you will be doing:
Review and analyze program data related to applications, participation, incentives, energy savings, QA/QC findings, trade performance, and customer activity
Produce recurring program reports (e.g., weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards and summaries) for internal program leadership
Respond to ad‑hoc data requests and analysis needs to support program planning, issue resolution, and decision‑making
Support data validation and quality control efforts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of program data
Maintain and update tracking tools, spreadsheets, and dashboards used to monitor program performance
Assist in identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement using quantitative analysis
Support preparation of client‑facing reports and materials, contributing analysis and data visualizations as needed
Work with program staff, QA/QC, trade ally management, and IT teams to understand data sources, definitions, and reporting requirements
Leverage emerging analytics and AI‑enabled tools to support data analysis, reporting efficiency, and insight generation
Document assumptions, methodologies, and data limitations clearly and consistently
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., data analytics, statistics, economics, engineering, environmental studies, business, or a related discipline)
1+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, or analytical support roles (including internships or co‑op experience)
What we would like you to have:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience working with structured datasets
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with dashboards or reporting tools
Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly to non‑technical audiences
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Comfort using or learning AI‑assisted analytics and reporting tools
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities
Experience supporting energy efficiency, utility, or public‑sector programs
Familiarity with program tracking systems, CRM platforms, or internal databases
Exposure to Power BI or similar data visualization tools
Experience working with large or complex datasets
Interest in residential energy efficiency, income‑qualified programs, or equity‑focused initiatives
Experience contributing to client‑facing reports or presentations
Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional program teams
